Andy Griffith lived here with his mother and father until he graduated from high school. Furnished with all the comforts of home. For the Mayberry Fan, there is no other place to experience Mayberry but in Andy Griffith’s own home.
Guests can stay in the Mount Airy Home where the Andy Griffith actor lived during his adolescence until his high school graduation. The house contains antiques and is decorated in a 1930s-1940s style with Griffith memorabilia.
Andy’s boyhood home is available for nightly rentals and is within walking distance from downtown Mount Airy, including Snappy Lunch mentioned on The Andy Griffith Show, Floyd’s Barbershop, The Andy Griffith Museum, Opie’s Candy Store, and Mayberry Soda Fountain.

The towns is super fun placed is it. There are many Andy Griffith ed items to see and you really have to stop at aunt B’s restaurant, the food is fantastic. Everyone in town is so friendly. And there’s a lot of shops where you can pick up souvenirs to bring home if you’d like.
If you wanna stay at Andy’s house where he grew up you will have to make reservations in advance.

We visited here from South Carolina as a nice little pitstop passing through. It was really cool to see and to have a police car at the entrance. They were part of a tour going through but was neat to see it there. In addition to that one there were probably about 4 more cruising through town. The downtown was fun to check out too.

Really neat to see the childhood home of one of North Carolina's most recognizable citizens. We drove by and looked at the house, but did not go inside. The home is available as a rental, which would be a cool experience for anyone who is a fan of "The Andy Griffith Show".

I am a huge Andy Griffith fan. Growing up I thought he was the image of a perfect man, just under my own daddy of course. I never missed an episode growing up and now I watch it daily to calm my nerves. It is a nice familiar in my life.
I pinned the location on my Google Map app and we were able to find the home very easily. A great marker for the next fan to find is look for the huge water tower with Andy and Opie mural painted on it. The house sets near the base of that tower.
I parked outside of the home and took a few snapshots with my phone. The house was already closed for the day. I was just happy to see the home.
